About

vassos book strategic internet marketingI’ve been called “The Web Guy”, “SEO Guru”, “The Internet Dude” and more.  I have been working in Information Technology since 1988.  In 1992, an EDS co-worker was their lead Web developer, and Andy turned me on to the World Wide Web.  In 1993 I began using an ISP out of Seattle called Delphi.  I then moved to AOL and started developing websites for friends and family using AOL’s html editor software called NaviPress.  In 1995 I moved to Denver, Colorado with my new bride, Esther, and developed a business plan for an online recruiting company that would use the WWW to find the best software developers from around the world.  With one of my best and oldest friends, Charlie, we built ColoradoJobs.com, a regional job site focused on recruiting software developers to Colorado.  Within 12 months and after studying Tom Vasso’s book “Strategic Internet Marketing” and implementing like strategies,  we ranked #1 on the top search engines at the time for our top keywords.  We worked with some of the largest software development houses in the world; Adobe, Quark, and Microsoft.  In 1999, Fortune magazine even recognized ColoradoJobs.com’s presence when they wrote an article about Monster.com.  From 2000 to 2004, I developed RacquetballCatalog.com which became the #1 racquetball site with revenues approaching $3M per year.  Once again, our top keywords were ranked in the top 3 positions for most of the major search engines.  In 2004, I began working for a Vail Resorts subsidiary sporting goods website and increased traffic through SEO to that site by 80% to 400,000 visitors per month. The site ranked in Internet Retailers magazine in the top 300 retail sites with close to $25M in annual revenues.   I also developed a golf site that generated close to $600k in sales in its first 12 months.

Since 2005, I have been the sole proprietor and Internet Marketing consultant at BrainScouts, Inc.  I have worked with some of the largest Internet companies in the world like, IAC (Match.com / Ask.com) and Denver  / DFW / Houston retailers ecommerce initiatives. I have experience working with F1000 CEOs and small family business owners with less than 5 employees.  I enjoy working with all size of companies.
